When Evnroll set out to design a zero-torque putter, the company took inspiration from an unlikely place. Penguins.
That might sound unusual, but penguins instinctively take the easiest path to their destination, while facing forward to ensure maximum efficiency on their journey. There are also 18 species of penguins, 18 holes of golf and 18 opportunities for one putts.
So, penguins were the inspiration for the Face Forward Technology leading the way for the Zero line of putters and zero face rotation. Zero line of putters and zero face rotation.
When Evnroll CEO Guerin Rife sought out to create this line, he wanted the zero-rotation technology in the putter to keep the face on path and directly down the target line, while tweaking a few features on other pre-existing putters.
“I created the new Zero line to eliminate the awkward forward shaft lean of the no-torque crazy of late,” Rife said in a release. “By moving the center of mass forward and incorporating a reverse plumber-neck hosel, Face Forward Technology has been born. The shaft is now vertical, but delivers zero face rotation.”
The primary goal of the Zero putters is to deliver the putter face square at impact. The shaft in the Zero putters is aligned with the putter head’s center of mass, which helps eliminate face rotation through the swing.
There are three putters offered in the Zero line, all of which are designed with the Face Forward Technology.
The Z1 is a high MOI mallet milled from 6061 aircraft aluminum and front-loaded with 85-gram tungsten sole weights. Looking down at the putter from address, there are two bold white lines and a hollowed-out center to help with alignment.
The Z1 comes in black, blue and red and 1/3 of the putter head’s weight is in the front heel and toe and is equipped with Evnroll’s Sweet Face technology. A series of variable width channels help replace energy lost on putts hit away from the sweet spot and redirects the ball towards the target line.
The Z2s is a wide-body, square back blade with high MOI for enhanced stability. It has a shorter and wider shape that’s inspired by the ER2 model with aggressive heel and toe face milling.
The reverse-offset hosel provides the zero torque, while variable weights that are customized for each length help bring weight balance to the putter.
The Z5s is a full-size mallet with curved rear wings connecting to a back alignment bar with aggressive heel and toe face milling.
The body of the putter is 100 percent milled 303 stainless steel and features tungsten and steel sole weights. The putter has a single alignment graphic and Sweet Face Technology.
The Zero line of putters brings zero torque to the lineup for Evnroll in a unique shaping and multiple putters for whatever style you prefer.
