Callaway Opus Spin Pocket Wedges

August 18, 2025

Callaway has already seen a ton of success with its Opus line of wedges, designed with a Tour-validated profile and a confident look at address.

Callaway Opus SP Wedge

Wanting to continue the momentum and add even more options, Callaway is bringing the Opus Spin Pocket to market to help golfers flight the ball lower, increase spin and maximize control.

The wedge comes in a two-piece construction with a spin pocket behind the face. It’s a unique construction behind the face that allowed the engineers at Callaway to reposition mass to optimize center of gravity higher in the club.

The spin pocket is a cavity that helps give you a more penetrating launch. In a wedge, with higher center of gravity, the club helps you get lower launch and reduce ballooning too high in the air. The spin pocket, combined with Shape 6, which has a precise leading edge and refined sole geometry, is a combination that Callaway is excited to bring to golfers everywhere.

The result is more spin and more control and more confidence when trying to find your way into tight pin positions.

The Opus wedge also comes with what Callaway is calling its most advanced face in Opus history with a new 17-degree groove angle. The grooves have a tighter pitch that delivers more groove edge contact, which helps with more consistent spin across a variety of lies.

The spin pocket wedges will come in the Tour-inspired T grind for precise shotmaking, the C grind with maximum versatility for skilled players, the versatile X grind, which is for golfers who want added bounce for forgiveness, as well as the S grind, which Callaway says is a grind for every situation.

The Opus Spin Pocket will be offered in a brushed chrome and black shadow finish in Callaway’s ultimate scoring tool.
