The line is inspired by prototype Phantom models made for Tour pros that brings Tour-inspired modifications in a beautiful Tour Black finish.
“With last year’s B3 Triple Black Design LTD putters, we re-introduced to dedicated golfers our Tour Black finish on some very desirable blades,” Founder, Scotty Cameron, said. “This time, we focused on the mallets, notably the Phantom models we most commonly modify for Tour players. With the Phantom Black 5.5, 7, 9,2R and 11 mallets, we have created four new models that incorporate specific feedback from the pros related to alignment, overall shape, neck configuration and, of course, the Tour Black finish.”
The Phantom Black 5.5 model maintains the popular mid-mallet’s wing-back shape and jet neck and also features a custom sight line configuration. The sight line is a milled topline and two flange lines accented in light gray.
The 5.5, along with every model in Phantom Black, also comes with chain-link face milling technology, which reduces the putter face’s touch points at impact with the ball using a texture that softens the sound and provides exceptional roll.
The Phantom Black 7 has a double bend shaft configuration and near-face balanced performance. The double bend creates a view like a plumbing neck with a cross angle to help square the putter at address.
“The double bend shaft used on the Phantom Black 7 was crafted specifically for a player looking to emulate the way a plumbing neck provides alignement,” Senior Director of putter R&D Austie Rollinson said.
The 9.2R model has rounded features and a custom 009-inspired plumbing neck that is shorter and farther towards the heel. The short single line alignment creates the illusion of a traditional topline.
“The Phantom Black 9.2R is a completely new model with a custom plumbing neck and rounded contours,” Rollinson said.
The 11 is a multi-material mallet with high MOI, stability and forgiveness as well as face balanced.
“Each Phantom Black putter is a response to a Tour player request,” Rollinson said. “From the Tour Black finish to new sight line configurations and neck designs, we’re excited to offer these Tour-inspired models to dedicated golfers looking for a Tour-like mallet putter.”
