PING has always focused on fitting golfers to the right product and creating golf clubs that are engineered with innovation at the forefront.
That notion continues with the announcement of the new Scottsdale putters and a whole new way to get fitted for PING putters. The Scottsdale line will offer nine putter models meant to bring forgiveness and feel to the green.

“The Scottsdale name has a special meaning to PING, dating back to the early days of the company in my grandfather Karsten Solheim’s garage, where his revolutionary ideas changed the equipment industry,” PING Presiden, John K. Solheim, said in a release. “The new line of putters includes some of the highest performing models in our history, like the standard-setting Anser, and the popular Craz-E model, which was ahead of its time more than 20 years ago with its unique shaping and alignment features.”
In addition to those models, the Scottsdale line will also include the Prime Tyne 4, Prime Tyne C, Oslo 3, Anser 2D, Anser 4, B63 and DS72.

All nine models will feature a face insert inspired by a popular athletic-shoe technology called PEBAX. It’s a material commonly used in the soles of athletic shoes for its elastic properties and PING says it’s a lightweight, high-energy-return compound that delivers a soft yet responsive feel in the one-piece insert.
“The new insert technology applied to every model helps ensure a soft, responsive feel, with the forgiveness and accuracy to sink more putts,” Solheim said. “The combination of the softer insert and higher MOI in every model deliver the preferred feel and ball-speed control many golfers need to improve their consistency on the greens.”
Impact stability is advanced in each model because of the large face-insert cavities that allow weight savings to be re-distributed farther toward the perimeter. That helps increase MOI and optimally placed center of gravity positions help reduce skid an initiate forward roll.
“In some of the models, the heads are slightly larger than previous versions to ensure even more forgiveness,” Solheim said. “We like to categorize these as game-improvement putters.”
PING encourages its customers to get fitted for putters and is making it even easier than ever with the web-based fitting tool, the WebFit Putter app. It was engineered in-house at PING to help golfers find the PING putter that best fits their game.
“It’s a great-looking selection of putters, and with the introduction of the WebFit Putter app, finding a PING model to fit your game is easier than ever,” Solheim said. “We continue to encourage golfers to take the time to get custom fit for their putters. From finding the best stroke type for your game to matching the putter’s look to your eye, a custom-fit putter can make a huge difference on the scorecard.”
The WebFit Putter app is similar to the WebFit Wedge app that PING launched last year and provides a quick and easy experience to help golfers find a new putter.

Within the nine models, there are options for every swing type. The Craz-E model is a mallet know for its alignment features and extreme MOI that comes from perimeter weighting and a low, back center of gravity. The Craz-E CB comes in a 37.75 inch standard length, with a longer shaft and grip that allows golfers to grip down for more stability.
The Prime Tyne 4 is also a mallet and is highly forgiving with a twin-fork design that gives it exceptional balance. The Prime Tyne C is a center-shafted model for players who set up better with no offset and have a straight stroke type.
The Oslo 3 is a high-MOI mallet that is perimeter weighted and has a low center of gravity for accuracy and has a ball-width back cavity for easier aiming.
The Anser is the winningest putter of all time and is heel-toe weighted for forgiveness and accuracy. The Anser 4 shares similar design characteristics with the Anser, but is designed with a hosel that assists a strong-arc stroke.
The Anser 2D is a slightly deeper, perimeter-weighted blade design that has a similar weight, size and forgiveness of a mid-mallet putter.
The Scottsdale B63 is a tour-inspired, perimeter-weighted B60 model with a soft-slanting hosel that matches the soft head geometry for visual balance.
Finally, the DS72 has a ball-width PEBAX face insert that matches the ball-width cavity to make aiming easier.
All nine models will come standard with a SuperStroke grip and options to help every golfer get into the right putter for them, while ultimately making more putts.
