The all-new 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x from Titleist

January 13, 2025

There’s a reason that the ProV1 golf ball is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025, and it has everything to do with consistency and performance.

In the 2024 PGA Tour season alone, players teed up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x ball a total of 4,103 times. Compare that to 649 for the nearest competitor and it’s easy to see how well received these balls have been for the world’s best players.

A golf ball that is so trusted by Tour players and consumers needs to be consistent, accurate and always improving every iteration to remain in that top spot. Because of that notion and the expectation, Titleist has continued to improve on each model and believes they have their best yet in the all-new 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

Building on 25 years of research and development, Titleist engineered the new ball to deliver more speed off the tee, more control with irons and more spin with wedges.

“The golf ball has to do everything,” Titleist’s Director of Golf Ball Product Management, Frederick Waddell, said. “It’s never just about maximizing one area – golfers need performance on every single shot. Each of our golf ball models is optimized for distance off the tee, and with 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x in particular, we’ve realized a speed gain while unlocking even better iron and wedge performance.

“All of which will help players shoot lower scores.”

The new models have already been played on the PGA Tour and have already won professional tournaments in the ZOZO Championship and the RSM Classic.

Pro V1

In the new Pro V1 models, Titleist has introduced a faster high gradient core, which produces more speed, along with increased iron and wedge spin for more control. The Pro V1 has 388 spherically tiled tetrahedral dimple design that optimizes distance and delivers a penetrating and consistent flight.

Customization options will also be available on the Pro V1, including Enhanced Alignment, a performance oriented alignment aid that Titleist says is designed to promote more precise aim and accuracy on putts.

Pro V1x

In the new Pro V1x, the ball has a new faster high gradient dual-core, which brings more ball speed and increases spin on approach shots for more control. The Pro V1x has a 348 spherically tiled tetrahedral dimple design that is optimized for high flight with even more consistency.

That is an easy way of explaining the years and years of testing and data collection brought about by Titleist to perfect the latest model and improve upon the last iteration in 2023.

The core reformulation allowed Titleist engineers to steepen the “spin slope,” helping to maintain low spin off the tee, while increasing spin with the scoring clubs. The engineers also found a gain in ball speed and a product that they felt was better than the prior model.

Despite those changes, the two balls will still have their unique distinctions and will fit different types of players.

The Pro V1 brings mid-flight trajectory, low long game spin, maximum short game spin and soft feel. The Pro V1x will fly higher, spin more on full swing shots and have a firmer feel.

Titleist has consistently produced the Pro V1 model for the last 25 years and continues to innovate to bring exceptional performance and accurate results. That’s displayed by this latest release on the 25th anniversary of a golf ball that has helped change the industry.

“The new Pro V1 and Pro V1x build upon innovations introduced in 2023, which improve upon our efforts in 2021 and 2019,” Titleist’s Senior Vice President of Golf Ball Marketing and U.S. Sales, Jeremy Stone, said. “There are no shortcuts. I think what golfers will see in 2025 Pro V1 is a product of constant innovation, and one we know is better than what came before it.”
