For a limited time, Titleist is offering its T-Series iron in a new Titanium Carbide Vapor black finish. It’s the first time Titleist is bringing the finish to the irons with a darker, more durable look than the previous T-Series black irons.
The new finish is smudge-resistant and consistent across the T100, T150, T200 and T350 models. The black irons will be available for pre-sale on Tuesday, February 11 and available for purchase on Friday, Feb. 28 at Carl’s Golfland.
Cameron Smith was on of the first players to ask for the black finish and had a strategic reason for his request.
“I’ve used the black finish since the AP2s came out, I can’t remember how long ago,” Smith said. “I think for me, just how they look, looks like a tighter finish line on top. They also look a little bit smaller, so I feel like you kind of have to concentrate a little bit more to see it.”

Smith plays the T100 black irons in six to nine iron and the T150 in his five-iron. Blending clubs from the different models is not uncommon and Titleist designed the T-series irons with blended sets in mind. Of the Titleist ambassadors currently playing on the PGA Tour, Titleist says that approximately 80 percent are playing blended sets of at least two Titleist iron models.
The T100 is a modern tour iron for players looking for precision control and feel. It’s a forged dual-cavity construction and comes with an improved variable bounce sole to help with turf interaction.
The T150 has similar consistency and feel to the T100, but offers increased speed, distance and forgiveness. The T150 is fully forged, but is built with two-degree stronger lofts than the T100 models to give that added distance.
The T200 is Titleist’s players distance iron that has a clean, player-preferred profile with a re-designed internal structure. It brings a more stable chassis, refined Max Impact Technology and a dual taper face.
Rounding out the line for Titleist is the T350, which is a game improvement iron that gives the golfer high launch with exceptional distance and forgiveness. The T350 has a hollow-body construction that is inspired by the T200 chassis. Titleist says that every aspect of the T350 is designed to give the golfer higher launch and more consistent, fast ball speeds.
No matter the model you play, Titleist will offer the new, durable black finish on all four models and will be offered in both right and left-hand.
