FootJoy Pro/SL Golf Shoe
If you’re looking for a spikeless shoe that features traction, support and comfort, look no further than the all-new Pro/SL from FootJoy.
The popular model has received some upgrades and a bold new look in this year’s iteration, giving golfers an incredible option in the spikeless shoe category.
“We don’t just make changes to make changes, especially with a category like Pro/SL that’s been a global success for over 10 years,” Patrick Trubiano, Director of Product Management - FootJoy footwear, said. “This version of Pro/SL was designed from the ground up with Tour-player input to deliver the best possible golf performance in an athletic, spikeless package.”
To help with support and traction, FootJoy utilized a Z-TEC upper technology, which is a multi-layer construction that surrounds your foot with targeted support and flexibility. The technology gives the golfer more efficiency in the swing and the ability to transfer energy in a confident foundation.
FootJoy has already seen some Tour adoption, including from PGA Tour player Sahith Theegala.
“The big thing for me; Pro/SL provides the right amount of stability vs. flexibility,” Theegala said. “I move a lot in my golf swing and the shoe allows me to move without losing that stable connection to the ground. This is also the most comfortable version yet.”
Helping with that comfort is a StratoFOAM heel crash pad that absorbs walking impact and cushions your step as you walk. The new Pro/SL is 29 percent lighter than the prior generation and has a slightly wider toe box offers more room and better feel.
Tour players won’t switch into a shoe if it’s not comfortable, but more importantly, they won’t switch if it doesn’t have the traction that they require with such high swing speeds. FootJoy ensured that the traction was at the highest standard for a spikeless shoe with an ARCTrax/SL outsole.
The outsole is built with strategically placed cones and traction fins that maximize ground contact. The construction of the outsole helps maximize force and stability and complements the overall package of the Pro/SL shoe.
FootJoy thought of everything when it came to this latest update to the Pro/SL, bringing a comfortable yet functional golf shoe with multiple colorways to fairways everywhere.
