SHOE REVIEW: G/FORE Galllivan2r Golf Shoes

October 25, 2024

When you walk into Carl’s Golfland, there’s a good chance that the G/FORE section will stick out upon arrival.

The brand calls itself disruptive luxury and has pushed the mold on what golf apparel and shoes should look like.. G/FORE offers traditional styles, but has also become well known for its skull and crossbones and bright designs throughout their lines and that is expressed clearly throughout our store.

That doesn’t mean, however, that it isn’t high quality or that the company doesn’t put form and functionality at the forefront. They absolutely do, and the luxury part of their description is fittingly accurate.

G/FORE Gallivan2r Golf Shoes

Both of those aspects come into play with the Gallivan2r (pronounced Gallivan-tour) shoe they launched in February, 2024, that is becoming a staple of the brand and offers a beautiful blend of comfort and modern styling. G/FORE has somehow created a look that comes off as modern, but also traditional.

In the modern sense, the midsole has a lattice sidewall that allows for heightened rebound while walking and allows for incredible comfort. The sole of the shoe has two options and typically bear a bright color or color combination that makes it pop.

G/FORE offers a G/POD Cleat system that isn’t spiked, however the cleats are arranged in the pattern of traditional spikes that provide integrated traction and offers 13 points of contact with the ground.

It’s again melding modern with traditional and allowing for the comfort of a spikeless shoe.

You can also opt for the G/LOCK version of the Gallivan2r that comes with removable spikes with a center stinger for optimal traction while swinging. If you like more traction, the G/LOCK is likely what you’d want to opt for.

Either way, the actual shoe itself is comfortable and has a waterproof upper so you don’t have to tip-toe through the dew covered grass and worry that your socks will get soaked. You also don’t have to worry about the shoe creasing in the front because of the makeup of the synthetic material used in the design of the shoe.

One of the more unique aspects of the shoe, and one of my personal favorite touches, is the high heel in the back. It gives the Gallivan2r an athletic look without trying too hard. It also isn’t obtrusive or uncomfortable and feels more like a cushion than a stiff ankle support.
