Golf Bag Holiday Gift Guide

A golf bag can be a great gift for that golfer in your life and we’re here to give you enough options to make an informed decision when buying a present this holiday season.

Golf bags are not all made equal and can provide different benefits, uses and functionality. We can start to narrow down your search by first deciding if your golfer would want a cart bag or stand bag and go from there.

Cart Golf Bags

If your golfer tends to ride a cart for most rounds or even uses a pull cart, a cart bag might be a good option. The cart bag is typically going to be larger than a stand bag, it does not have legs to aid in keeping it upright, but its size is ideal for a golf cart and riding.

The cart bag will also have pockets positioned perfectly for a golf cart, so the golfer can access each pocket with ease.

PING has four different cart bag options, including the DLX Cart Bag, the Pioneer, Traverse and Women’s Traverse.

The DLX has a 15-way top with an enlarged putter well, 15 pockets, an insulated pocket, deployable shoe pockets, Velcro glove patches and weighs 9.5 pounds. Conversely, the Traverse weighs six pounds, has a 14-way top with 15 pockets, a rangefinder pocket with dividers, a towel loop and a trunk handle.

Callaway has a large number of cart bags available in a variety of colors and designs. The ORG 14 Cart Bag is a great option that has 14-way dividers for each individual golf club. It’s offered in three designs and has 10 large pockets for an ideal amount of storage.

It also features an oversized, cooler lined pocket for beverages and snacks, a front-facing GPS pocket, two large apparel pockets and an umbrella holder. The lowrider technology top also makes it an ideal fit for a push cart.

Callaway’s Cargo cart bag is going to feature 16 total pockets, 14-way shaft shield arena club divider, an oversized, cooler lined pocket, dual mesh beverage sleeves and a carabiner towel hook with glove attachment. The Cargo bag comes in 11 different color options and is a heavy-duty cart bag, packed with a ton of storage.

Both of those options from Callaway come in men’s and women’s bags, as well.

Sun Mountain is another popular brand when it comes to cart bags with 11 total options available.

The C-130 cart bag comes in nine different options with some eye-popping designs to bring a little life to your bag. It comes with a nine-inch, 14-way top with full-length dividers, including a dedicated putter well. The bag has 11 pockets, a velour-lined rangefinder pocket with a magnetic opening, a cooler pocket, a cart-strap pass-through and four utility handles.

The Matchplay cart bag is a luxury bag constructed from infinity vinyl and is an upscale offering from Sun Mountain.

It has the 14-way dividers, 11 pockets, a ball pocket, large velour-lined valuables pockets, cart-strap pass-through, umbrella sleeve, pen holder and matching rain hood. This is Sun Mountain’s class-leading bag that has everything a golfer who rides would need.

The Sun Mountain C-100 bag is another great option with 14 individual full-length dividers, a beverage pocket, two velour-lined valuables pockets and an umbrella holder.

In addition to those two options, Titleist’s Cart 15 golf bag and Cart 14 lightweight bag are both great options. Available in four colors, the Cart 15 bag has a 15-way top with an oversized putter well and a padded premium single strap.

It has 11 front facing pockets, a molded magnetic valuables pocket and a removable ball pocket.

If you’re looking to support your favorite NFL team, Wilson has a ton of options in their cart bag with the Bills, Bears, Lions, Bengals, Browns and Cowboys among others.

Stand Bags

A stand bag can be used on a cart, as well, but the cart bag is typically constructed to fit snuggly in the strap. Stand bags give the golfer the option to walk with dual straps, as well as setting their bag down wherever they please.

If your golfer likes to ride, but likes the idea of a stand bag, you can always go with a hybrid, which is a larger version of a stand bag.

OGIO’s WOODE 8 is a great hybrid option that comes in seven different designs and colors, with rocket pops and wave camo available. The bag has an eight-way top with full-length dividers, nine extra pockets, a snap ball pocket, rapid access snap fleece lined valuables pocket and a water bottle pocket.

It weighs 5.6 pounds and comes with a double shoulder strap with Fit Disc technology.

Titleist has a couple different hybrid options with the Hybrid 5 and Hybrid 14, signifying the number of dividers each bag has for clubs. The Hybrid 5 weighs 5.4 pounds and comes with seven pockets, while the Hybrid 14 weighs 6.2 pounds, has eight pockets and is designed for golfers looking for storage, organization and versatility.

Sun Mountain’s C-130 Hybrid and C-130 Hybrid VLO are two more great hybrid options for the golfer that you’re shopping for. The C-130 Hybrid comes in five different color options and features a 15-way divider, seven total pockets, two velour-lined valuables pockets, a roomy insulated beverage pocket with a drainage port and a cart strap pass-through.

It also has VLO technology that allows this bag to fit on a push cart, making it very versatile.

If you’re looking for a ligher weight stand bag option, Jones Rover stand bag weighs 4.2 pounds, the Callaway Hyperlite bag weighs 2.9 pounds, Nike Air Max lite weighs 4.5 pounds, PING Hoofer Lite weighs five pounds, Titleist’s Players 4 Carbon stand bag weighs 2.9 pounds and TaylorMade’s FlexTech carry stand bag weighs three pounds.

There are a ton of options at CarlsGolfland.com, no matter what you’re looking for. If you’re able to narrow your golf bag search down by category and eventually look and size, you should be well on your way to becoming a scratch gift giver this holiday season.
