Callaway Opus SP+ Wedges
Callaway has re-engineered its Opus SP wedges, bringing its Tour-preferred shaping with an even higher center of gravity for more spin and precision with the new Opus SP+ wedges.
The Opus SP wedge featured a spin pocket in the clubhead that redistributed weight higher in the wedge that raised center of gravity for a more penetrating launch. The new SP+ wedge has the spin pocket, but also has a re-engineered three-piece construction head design that reshapes the mass and optimizes the center of gravity location.
The result, with the spin pocket and reshaping, is more spin and enhanced control to help you attack more pins.
In addition to the spin pocket construction, the Opus SP+ has 13+ grams of tungsten positioned in the back of the wedge. The weighting and the spin pocket have helped Callaway create a wedge that helps give a flighted launch and an even better feel.
Outside of the center of gravity, Callaway has also introduced its most advanced face in Opus history with the new Spin Gen 2.0 face. The grooves have a 17-degree angle with tighter pitch spacing.
The design of the grooves and a deeper cross-hatch laser pattern across the face helps with more consistent spin and produces enhanced friction for more stopping power and spin across the face.
Callaway had already seen success with the Opus SP wedges, but has now brought additions and re-engineered properties to give you even more consistency and opportunities to score.
