Titleist is taking golf ball alignment markings to a new level with AIM 360, designed to help you commit to your line and make more putts.
AIM 360 is featured on Tour Soft and AVX golf balls with the thought that the new markings will help golfers have more confidence with their aim.
“Player feedback is at the core of everything we do in product development,” said Frederick Waddell, Titleist’s Director of Golf Ball Product Management. “We saw a growing interest in various alignment aids and cues printed directly on the golf ball from the dedicated golfer. Our AIM lineup consists of three unique performance-oriented designs, all geared to help golfers set up and then start their golf ball on its intended line.”
AIM stands for Alignment Integrated Marking and the 360 graphic features three lines that wrap entirely around the golf ball. Through tour inspiration and Titleist research, the R&D team has developed the aim 360 graphic for the Tour Soft and AVX golfer.
Titleist found that the AIM products improved precision in alignment by up to 35 percent compared to the standard Pro V1 sidestamp when golfers were instructed to line up the golf ball to their target.
The graphics are an additional extension to the already existing golf balls and tour soft and AVX will continue to be available without the markings.
However, those golfers who have been looking for the performance of a Titleist golf ball and graphics that will help them line their wall up they now have two options within the Titleist brand.
“AVX and Tour Soft AIM 360 models are great additions to the lineup because they give more golfers the opportunity to play an advanced alignment design,” Waddell continued. “It expands our AIM offerings to AVX and Tour Soft golfers, and the 360-degree marking on the golf ball gives players a very different look than Performance Alignment and Enhanced Alignment. It’s designed for players who prefer a larger alignment feature than our other golf balls with AIM Technology.”
AVX has a soft urethane cover that delivers high spin around the green with a soft feel. It brings a unique combination of distance and feel and features the aim 360 markings.
Tour Soft has a fast, large core that delivers fast ball speeds for long distance off the tee. The core combined with a thin fuss blend cover allows for dependable green-side spin and a soft feel.
The concept of alignment markings is not new to Titleist, as the brand has been adding graphics to their balls since 2007, but this is the first with a full 360 degree marking that will be offered.
