Vokey SM11 Black Vapor Wedges with Flight Lines
If you’ve been looking for more consistency with your wedges around the greens, Vokey wedges have a new feature to help you with repeatable shots.
The new SM11 Black Vapor wedges have Flight Lines on the hosel that help golfers unlock better play. The lines on the hosel are purposefully positioned for three different shots with bump and run, pitch shots and flop shots.
In order for a golfer to use the Flight Lines, they set up to the type of shot they’d like to hit, align the specific Flight Line with their nose and adjust the shaft lean and club face to hit the shot. For a bump and run, you’ll utilize the back line for a low, controlled shot that releases upon landing.
For a pitch shot, you’ll use the middle line and a neutral shaft angle to use the bounce and generate some spin. For a flop shot, you will use the forward line to open the clubface and set the shaft angle for a high shot.
The Flight Lines were developed with short game coach Parker McLachlin, who wanted to bring built-in setup cues to help the average golfer.
“I’ve worked with some of the best players in the world on their short game,” McLachlin said. “One of the things I’ve noticed is they all set up to their wedge shots pretty similar. Flight Lines are going to help you understand where the club face and shaft are supposed to be positioned at set up.”
In addition to the Flight Lines, the new wedges will come in the titanium carbide vapor finish, which is a durable black look. It differs from the raw black finish previously offered in that it is more durable and also has a smudge resistant FPP coating.
The Vokey Design badge and Wings logo are painted with gold accents to give a pop to the wedges and will come with a Golf Pride Z Cord grip and a Dynamic Gold Onyx shaft. The wedges are available now for pre-order and will launch on July 23.
