With its extremely lightweight design and groundbreaking engineering, the Callaway Women's Epic MAX Star Fairway Woods set a new bar for ball speed technologies in an oversized, forgiving shape that combines a shallow face and a low leading edge to provide an extremely easy launch.

Epic Ball speed starts with Callaway's new Jailbreak A.I. Velocity Blades.  Using artificial intelligence, Callaway's engineers designed a completely new Jailbreak system which spreads and angles the Jailbreak Blades.  By stiffening the body, the new design places all of the energy at impact on the face, allowing the forged face cup to flex more for explosive distance.

The second component involved in maximizing ball speed is the design of the forged face cup.  Callaway's advanced A.I. technology uniquely designed the Flash Face of every fairway wood model, adding ball speed on both center and off center strikes.

While distance is valuable, forgiveness is equally important, and the Epic Max Star has it in spades.  Using a lighter, stronger triaxial carbon material in the crown that weighs significantly less than steel results in discretionary weight, which is then redistributed low and back in the clubhead.  The relocated CG promotes a high launch, as well as increased MOI and stability.

Adjustable weights in the fairway's sole can be switched to manufacture differing ball flight characteristics.  Use the heavy weight in the rear and you'll see a higher launch and more forgiveness.  On the other hand, using the heavy weight in the front generates less spin and a lower launch.
