Mizuno found that the Nanoally material helped produce a face that alters its elasticity under impact in concert with titanium behind it. That material stores and releases more energy at impact than the traditional titanium and Mizuno saw increases in speed through its testing. Because of the breakthrough, the engineers were able to make the titanium thinner than previous generations, which increased the sweet spot for more consistent ball speeds across the face.

The two models offered within the driver lineup both feature the new Nanoalloy material and both saw improvements in ball speed. The JPX One model, however, has a larger footprint with higher stability and more forgiveness. JPX One Select has a more compact shape with a slight fade bias for a slightly better golfer.

Mizuno was able to save weight in the JPX One fairway metals with a wrap-around composite crown that lowers the center of gravity for higher launch and reduced spin. The fairway metals feature a multi-thickness MAS1C steel face for optimal performance. In addition to the face and crown, the fairway metals also have a new speed bevel sole for cleaner strikes and better turf interaction.

The hybrids have an iron-replacement shape with a waffle crown structure for enhanced face stability. Mizuno positioned weight lower and deeper to help with launch and spin in what should be a seamless transition from long iron to fairway woods within any Mizuno iron set. Similar to the fairway metals, the hybrids also have the speed bevel sole to help with turf interaction.

The M-13 model is a players distance iron leaning more towards the player side because of its thinner topline and more compact shape. Mizuno has made the face hotter and packed M-13 with technology to give the golfer more speed and a more consistent flight profile. High launch and forgiveness combined with speed was the ultimate goal of the M-15 irons. Mizuno accomplished that through a hollow body design in the longer irons combined with tungsten, working down to a half hollow design in the scoring irons. The easy launching iron is available in 2, 3 and 4 irons with a chassis that has been upgraded to 4335+ nickel chromoly to produce faster ball speeds.
