However, switching from a traditional putter to a zero torque model can prove challenging, as the perfectly balanced setup required to eliminate torque necessitates a rearward or "onset" hosel with built-in shaft lean, which many golfers find awkward and visually unappealing. Utilizing an advanced multi-material construction, including aluminum, steel, and over 140 grams of tungsten, Odyssey's new Tri-Hot Square 2 Square Putters revolutionize the category, offering all the performance advantages of zero torque with a familiar and comfortable hosel and setup position.
Odyssey's new Ai-DUAL insert in the Tri-Hot S2S family is equally impressive. It was born from the company's quest to combine the attributes of its most effective inserts: the forgiveness of Ai-ONE and the roll dynamics of Microhinge. To accomplish this once thought-to-be-impossible goal, Odyssey leaned on Callaway's industry-leading artificial intelligence to design a dual-layer urethane insert comprising a soft outer layer and a firm inner layer. Like Ai-ONE, this innovative construction delivers consistent ball speeds and unmatched distance control across the face. Additionally, the insert works in conjunction with the now deeper and more aggressive grooves on the face to promote the same optimal forward roll as Microhinge almost immediately after impact.
Featuring an extended length, a heavier build, and a longer grip intended to be choked up on, Odyssey's Cruisers are extremely stable.
