Tour Edge Hot Launch C523 Hybrid Combo Iron Set
For many golfers, long irons are difficult to hit, and even when struck well, they don't generate enough distance or a high enough ball flight to score well. As such, the Tour Edge C523 Hybrid Combo Iron Set replaces menacing long irons with metalwood-like hybrids that are longer, more forgiving, and easier to launch.
C523 Hybrids feature a new sole rail that extends from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the club. This unique design creates a super-low center of gravity that produces high-launching shots with optimized spin rates, decreased turf interaction, and maximum ball speed off the face. Additionally, the sole rail allowed for a 36% increase in hitting area on the face, making the C523 incredibly forgiving and easier to hit.
The C523 Hybrid is equipped with Tour Edge's Diamond Face 2.0, a significant breakthrough in face technology. Diamond Face consists of 39 "mini-trampolines" behind the face, which flex and rebound to rocket the ball of the club head for explosive ball speed and distance. As an added benefit, Diamond Face improves performance on off-center hits and reduces spin.
Tour Edge strategically places a back weight at the extreme rear of the C523 Hybrid. The back weight creates an extremely high MOI rating, an 11% increase over the previous model, for top-in-line stability. Additionally, the weight dramatically lowers and deepens the center of gravity to aid with launch and forgiveness.
Tour Edge Hot Launch C523 Irons are crafted from extremely soft 431 stainless steel for optimal feel and are designed for maximum distance and forgiveness in a traditional cavity back design. The new C523 is more compact than its predecessor, with a thinner topline and a sharper high toe.
The C522's deep 360° undercut cavity and wide sole design promote a myriad of game improvement benefits, the most notable of which are tremendous forgiveness and an easy, high launch. The cavity works in unison with advanced toe weighting to maximize stability on impact, provide better off-center distance, and elongate the sweet spot.
While lowering the loft may seem like a simple solution to gaining distance, there is more to it than meets the eye. Tour Edge power lofts the C523 Irons but also places the center of gravity lower and deeper in the head to retain the launch conditions and apex of a standard lofted iron. The result is a modern, distance monster of an iron.
Stock shaft offerings include UST's Mamiya HL-SST in graphite and True Temper's XP-85 in steel. The Mamiya HL-SST features Stability Shaft Tech, a softer tip, and a mid-range flex. Stabilized Shaft Tech is an added cross weave that improves stability during the loading and unloading of the shaft. The XP-85 is designed to ensure the ultimate combination of maximum ball speed and dispersion control.
