In addition to expanding the useable area of the face, the iron's newfound size allows more mass to be shifted away from the center of the club head, creating massive MOI and stability. Lowering the center of gravity also helps vault the ball high in the air leading to increased carry distances and a steeper, green-holding descent angle.

The next critical piece of technology in the HALO XL Full-Face is the byproduct of artificial intelligence. Known as MainFrame XL Face Technology, Cleveland's R & D team utilized AI to simulate thousands of strikes across the club's face. After evaluating the performance characteristics of each result, face geometries were manipulated, and thousands more simulations were run. This deliberate process was repeated many times and ultimately led to the creation of an intricate, variable-thickness design that vastly expands the sweet spot and improves energy transfer across the face. The iron's hollow, hybrid-like shape allows for metal-wood-like face flex, working in unison with MainFrame to generate explosive ball speeds at impact.

The final piece of technology powering the HALO XL isn't found in the club head. Cleveland inserts an 8g weight at the end of the shaft, creating a counterbalanced effect, the benefits of which are dynamic. As you take the club away from address, Action Mass CB weight makes it feel lighter and more controlled. Added control leads to added stability and a more repeatable golf swing. At the beginning of the downswing, Action Mass brings your hands straight down and your arms close to your body, creating a better plane and a squarer club face while avoiding the casting motion commonly referred to as an "over the top" swing.
