There is no one grip style that is correct for all golfers. Grip selection varies with individual needs and preferences. While there are no absolutes, typically, players who generate higher swing speeds prefer firmer grips for stability, traction and torsion control, while players with lower swing speeds may prefer softer, tackier feeling grips.
The importance of grip size cannot be overstated. Grips are manufactured in 4 main sizes, undersized, standard, midsize and oversized. While there are exceptions, the general rule is the larger the hand size, the larger the grip size and conversely the smaller the hand, the smaller the grip size.
