It's Back - The Odyssey $500,000 Putting Challenge at Carl's Golfland
The event that changed the meaning of "Putt for Dough" has finally arrived. Mark your calendars - July, 9th 2022 is the day for you to roll the rock for your shot at winning $500,000. If you are skilled and lucky enough to make it to the final 60-foot putt, you could be taking home $450k for yourself and $50k for the C.S. Mott Children's Hopsital. As you make you way through the rounds, not only will you be benefiting a great charitable organization, but you'll collect some unique Odyssey & Carl's Golfland swag along the way. In addition to the "buy up" proceeds from the putting event, Carl's Golfland will be donating $1 from every bucket of balls sold at our Bloomfield Hills location, on July 9th, to the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Here's how the rounds will work, how you can "buy up" for closer putts and all of the details:
July 9, 2022 | 10am | Rain or Shine | Registration starts at 9am
There will be 5 options on the first round putt: a 25-foot free putt, a 20-foot $10 donation putt, a 15-foot $20 donation putt, a 10-foot $30 donation putt or a 5-foot $40.00 donation putt. All money will be donated to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. All first round contestants get a Callaway golf ball, an Odyssey Poker Chip and a Carl’s Golfland tee pack.
Anyone that holes the putt or the top 60 closest to the hole will advance to the next round where contestants will have 4 options to putt from: a 30-foot putt for free, a 25-foot $10 donation putt, a 20-foot $20 donation putt or a 10 foot $30 donation putt. Again, all money collected will be donated to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. 2nd round participants get an Odyssey Putting Disk and Divot Tool.
Anyone that holes the putt or the top 40 closest to the hole will advance to the next round where contestants will have 4 options to putt from: a 35-foot putt for free, a 30-foot $10 donation putt, a 25-foot $20 donation putt or a 15-foot $30 donation putt. Again, all money collected will be donated to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Third round participants get an Odyssey Logo Cap.
Anyone that holes the putt or the top 20 closest to the hole will advance to the next round where contestants will take a shot at a 40-foot putt for free, a 35-foot $10 donation putt, a 30-foot $20 donation putt or a 20-foot $30 donation putt. Again, all money is donated to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Fourth round participants add a Odyssey Tour Towel and a $25 Carl’s Golfland gift card.
Anyone that holes the putt or the top 10 closest to the hole will advance to the next round where contestants will take a shot at a 50-foot putt for free, a 40-foot $30 donation putt, a 35-foot $40 donation putt or a 30-foot $50 donation putt. Again all money is donated to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Fifth round winners add an Odyssey Tour Umbrella and a $200 Carl's Golfland Gift Card toward the purchase of an Odyssey Putter. The closest to the hole moves on to the final round. If there is a tie or more than one contestant holes the 50-foot putt, then there will be a 55-foot putt for the final spot. One contestant goes to the final round.
The final... One contestant takes a 60-foot putt for $450,000 for themselves and $50,000 for the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. If the contestant fails to make the putt, they add a Tour-Signed Odyssey Staff Bag, $500 Carl's Golfland Gift Card and a tour of the Callaway Tour Truck at the Rocket Mortgage Classic to their prize package.

On Friday, July 1st, Contestants in the Putting Challenge will be notified. Emails will be sent out notifying them that they have been selected as contestants and that the Putting Challenge will take place at the Carl’s Golfland in Bloomfield Hills on Saturday, July 9th starting at 10:00 am. Contestants will use their choice of Odyssey putter (personal or one provided by Odyssey for use) and a Callaway golf ball (provided by Callaway) during the contest.
Carl’s $500,000 Putting Challenge will be held, rain or shine, Saturday, July 9th, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at our Bloomfield Hills location practice green. No-shows will forfeit when their name is called. Registration for the event starts at 9am.
*If the final contestant wins the $500,000.00 they will be paid in a 30-year annuity at $15,000.00 per year and a donation of $1,666.00 per year to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital . No purchase necessary to win. Void where prohibited by law. You must be 18 years of age or older to win. Carl’s Golfland employees, affiliates and members of their immediate families and/or households are not eligible to win. Former or current professional golfers, current varsity collegiate golfers, former members of the PPA or previous finalists in the last 12 months are not eligible. No practice putts at hole. Winners must pay for all applicable taxes and fees. Odds of winning are dependent on number of entries. No cash alternative or other prize substitution allowed. Prizes must be claimed by July 31, 2022. To obtain a list of winning names, send a self-addressed envelope with proper postage affixed to the address below.
